Do You Hear That?

I had many pets growing up. It was always so hard when one of them died and I always swore that I never wanted another pet because I could not stand the pain. Of course I always got another one.

Before I started this painting I contemplated what animal afterlife was all about. Maybe our past pets are guardian angels to our living pets.Maybe out pets can hear those little angel voices. If so, this is how it all shakes down.
